DEFAULT_SOCKET_BUFFER_SIZE

Constant DEFAULT_SOCKET_BUFFER_SIZE

pub const DEFAULT_SOCKET_BUFFER_SIZE: usize = _ /* 7_340_032usize */;
Available on crate features quic and std only.
Expand description

The kernel receive and send buffer an endpoint asks for on the sockets it binds itself.

QUIC arrives in bursts of coalesced datagrams and the endpoint drains its socket from one task; the platform’s default of a few hundred KiB is under a millisecond of a fast transfer and drops packets before the endpoint sees them. This floor is best effort: a platform limit caps it silently and a bind never fails on it (see UdpSocketConfig::with_min_buffer_size). Pass a UdpSocketConfig of your own to bind without it.
