Outcome of incrementally classifying a (possibly partial) TLS ClientHello handshake, for fail-fast protocol peeking.

It lets a peeker distinguish “keep reading” (Incomplete) from “this can never be a ClientHello, stop now” (Invalid) — a distinction the plain Result returned by parse_client_hello_handshake collapses (it maps both to an error).

Variants§

§

Complete(ClientHello)

A complete, valid ClientHello handshake was parsed from the prefix.

§

Incomplete

The prefix is a valid start of a ClientHello handshake but more bytes are needed to finish — keep peeking.

§

Invalid

The prefix cannot be a valid ClientHello handshake regardless of what bytes follow — stop peeking.
