BoringRequestedTrustAnchors

Struct BoringRequestedTrustAnchors

pub struct BoringRequestedTrustAnchors(/* private fields */);
Available on crate feature boring only.
Expand description

Requested trust anchor identifiers for the trust_anchors ClientHello extension.

This controls what is advertised to the peer, not certificate verification. An empty identifier list still requests the extension, while Self::omitted leaves it out regardless of any inherited setting.

Implementations§

§

impl BoringRequestedTrustAnchors

pub fn try_from_ids<I, B>( ids: I, ) -> Result<BoringRequestedTrustAnchors, Box<dyn Error + Sync + Send>>
where I: IntoIterator<Item = B>, B: AsRef<[u8]>,

Encode identifiers, each between 1 and 255 bytes, in the provided order.

The complete extension body must fit in the TLS 16-bit length field. An empty iterator requests an empty list.

pub fn from_raw_extension_body( body: impl Into<Box<[u8]>>, ) -> BoringRequestedTrustAnchors

Retain a captured extension body, including its outer 16-bit length prefix.

This is deliberately unchecked so infallible ClientHello conversion does not discard malformed data. Connector construction validates it and fails rather than silently omitting the requested extension.

pub const fn omitted() -> BoringRequestedTrustAnchors

Leave the extension out, overriding any inherited request.

pub fn extension_body(&self) -> Option<&[u8]>

The extension body including its outer length prefix, or None when omitted.

pub fn identifier_list( &self, ) -> Result<Option<&[u8]>, Box<dyn Error + Sync + Send>>

Validate the body and return the identifier sequence without its outer length.

BoringSSL accepts this sequence as non-empty, 8-bit length-prefixed IDs. Returns None when the extension is omitted.
